I know for me a "good" writer pays attention to detail and paints a vivid picture regarding backdrop, feelings, thoughts and depth of personal
excitement, turmoil or conflict a character is going through (or has gone through). I enjoy writers that allow a story or poem to develop at a nice pace.
For me, that is important. What does anyone else think?

Well, not to sound all text book or anything, but I think a writer is good when he/she relates to/ or persuade his/her audience the way that he/she sat out to
do wen developing the piece.

For me a "good" writer, uses the page as the canvas and words as paint. The
ability to create images with your words is one sign of a "good" writer. I also think that "good" writers are writers who are able to give
detail but careful not to get too wordy. A story or poem should take you on a ride in my opinion and timing is everything. One of the most important things
that determines a "good" writer are believable characters. I want to feel like I know these people or I could hang out with that person...lol. A
"good" writer makes reading his or her work an experience and more than mere words on a page.
